Default Shadow Manipulator

Background
Humans that have lived in crypts, sewers, and surrounded themselves in the shadows. With time they become adapted to the dark and horrible environment, dark creatures and evil beings congregate around them. Most die by this point, but those that survive the ordeal will gain shadow powers. Shadow manipulators are not inheritly evil beings, but many choose to be evil.

Basic Statistics
Starter Health-100
Max health- 470
Energy- 25
Starter Armor- 10 (+30 vs. shadow damage)
Maximum Armor- 60 (+50 vs. shadow damage)
Weapon- knife
Focus- Neutral Creation (shaped like a black doll)

New Stuff
Manipulation-
the shadow manipulator's main form of spellcraft is manipulation. Unlike spells it costs no energy to produce and very few of them have long casting times. However, many of them will require the craft to do above a certain amount of damage or the caster will take damage.

Bind-
a subtype of casting, binds cost low energy but have relatively high recharge times. Binds will slow the enemy or stop them completely.

Manipulated Weapon-
causes a weapon to appear for a certain number of attacks. ex. (Shadow Bow will appear for 3 attacks. Each attack will deal 5....65 damage).

Attributes
Shade's Way- (Primary Attribute)
For every point in this attribute, binds and manipulations become 4% more effective. For every 3 points, binds cost 5% less energy.
Binder's Way-
includes many binding's and shadow weapons to inflict heavy damage.
Manipulator's Way-
includes manipulations and only manipulations.
Shadowfight's Way-
includes many shadow weapons and increases the effectiveness of the shadow manipulator's knife.

Sample Skills
Shade's Way
Shadow Body- 1 cast 12 recharge
[elite manipulation] for 5 seconds, you become immune to all forms of damage. When this manipulation ends you cannot cast another manipulation for 20....9 seconds.

2 point binding- 5 energy 1/2 cast 20 recharge
(bind) for 5...15 seconds, target foe moves 10% slower.

Binder's Way
10 point bind- 5 energy 1 cast 26 recharge
(bind) for 20 seconds, target foe moves and attacks 20...35% slower.

Great Shadow Binding- 25 energy 1/2 cast 12 recharge
[elite bind] target foe cannot move for 5...10 seconds.

Spellchains- 5 energy 1 cast 20 recharge
(bind) target foe cannot attack for 10 seconds and moves 20% slower for 5...15 seconds.

Soul Chains- 5 energy 1 cast 60 recharge
[elite bind] seperate target foe's soul from his body for 1...3 seconds. That foe is knocked down while this bind is in effect. While this bind is in effect, a spirit called (name's) spirit appears over the body. (just a visual addition. makes it look cool)

Manipulator's Way
Shadow Shield- 1/2 cast 4 recharge
(manipulation) you have a 30...75% chance to block the next attack, spell, or other skill used against you.

Shade's Strike- 1 cast 12 recharge
(manipulation) target foe suffers 5...65 shadow damage.

Choke- 1/2 cast 24 recharge
(manipulation) target foe must be binded for this skill to have any effect. Remove 1 bind from target foe, that foe suffers 1...85 shadow damage.

Shade's Armor- 1 cast 12 recharge
(manipulation) for 5...40 seconds, you gain +10...30 armor and +10...30 armor vs. shadow damage.

Shade's Onslaught- 1/8 cast 24 recharge
[elite manipulation] send out 1...12 shades at target foe and all adjacent foes. Each shade does 7 shadow damage.

Sadowfight's Way
Shadowbow- 5 energy 1 cast 12 recharge
(manipulated weapon) shadowbow will appear for 3 attacks. each attack deals 5...65 damage.

Shadeknife- 10 energy 1/2 cast 20 recharge
(manipulated weapon) shadekife will appear for 1...6 attacks. Each attack will steal an additional 5...20 life.

Darkhunt- 5 energy 1/8 cast 6 recharge
(manipulated weapon) Darkhunt (a pair of daggers) will appear for 1...12 attacks. Each attack will strike for 5...20 damage and cause crippling for 10 seconds.

Saintblood knife- 15 energy 1 cast 12 recharge
[elite manipulated weapon] Sainblood knife will apear for 1...4 attacks. Each attack will deal 5...20 damage, steal 5...20 life, and lower maximum health by 1% for 5...20 seconds(stacking).


A few of the skills are overpowered but I had a friend (gwnerd don't ask) go through it and nerf half the skills. Tell me what you think. And enjoy the pics!

Well, it's a good thing you asked help from someone^^!

I gotta say the skills are balanced^^.

Good Job, and very Unique^^!
I really like the Shadow Weapon but their is already a skill called Shadow Weapon, might wanna change that?

But still some need a little twicking,

Increased Grip
-Lower Max Damage from 100 to 85.

Soul Chains
-what do you mean by seperate soul with body?
And 6 seconds at max is still overpowered you may lower it or you'r skills are disabled for a few seconds like 5 seconds.

OMG, I could so abuse the heck out of this, a bit of fast casting and this would own...
or the primary would increase the damage too at least 104 armor ignoring per second witch would also make sin gankers look like bug zappers(channeling ritualists)

I like the manipulated weapons, they are like spells which are blockable through stances and things like that, right?
That allows them to deal a bit more damage than other spells, but still be balanced.

You friend did a good job of nerfing it down(a lot, probably) but its still hard to get around you, being you.

It is interesting though, lots of it I fail to really see through; At least I assume there is a deeper meaning to it, the incoherency's are just things I don't see the deep thought of.
Such as:
What do shadows have to do with binding? something untouchable becomes something powerful enough to hold strength(16) warriors without breaking.
I would get a paralyze with fear skill but don't understand how shadows and chains are related.

You have the short sword and the manipulated weapons in the same attribute; that is logical as it could be an 'art of death' attribute(turn even a pen into a deadly weapon)
But why the short sword? Why not any type of manipulated weapon, the attribute obviously has multiple types available.

What makes short swords different from warrior swords? There is already a skin named short sword that drops in Ascelon.

What makes manipulations different from signets? There are lots of different signets in the game with lots of different effects, none of the manipulations looks out of place as a signet too me. That is probably a good thing as there has been some call for a signet heavy class for a pretty long while now.

Why deal damage? I would prefer it to slow spell casting; I'd like a cheap skill to slow casting, I have a pretty hard time landing interrupts if I'm lagging even the slightest bit, often have them landing way too late.

Rename it to 'choke hold' or 'Loosen Life'. 'Increased Grip' is something I'd expect to find in a smith CC or something you can buy for your Norn styled guild hall(or do those just look like the luxers moving buildings and are actually stationary?).

Fixed.
On a lighter note my friend was the one who changed shade's strike's original stats to 0 recharge. That's my original up there now.
On another lighter note I'll explain some of the subtilities. The meaning of binding, shadows and darkness will always bring out the worst in people. Shadows are the things that have a very deep and strong alignment but an alignment which no one can ever know. That alone is enough to make someone freeze in fear at their mysterious ways. (I should've been an artist or something creative, I didn't know I could think like this!)
On another subtility, shortswords are perfect for those that lurk in the shadows. They are just long enough that the person can reach his target without leaving his shadowy sanctuary and yet just short enough that his weapon will always stay close and the tip will always be within his control. Though I'd love to rename it a knife, which is like a shortsword but with a different name.
